Lake Cargelligo Local Court

The Lake Cargelligo Local Court is located at 51 Canada Street, Lake Cargelligo, between Johnson Street and Foster Street. The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters commence. It will hear cases about all kinds of criminal and traffic offenses, including Assaults, Domestic Violence, Drinking Driving, and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications.

The Lake Cargelligo Local Court sits as the Lake Cargelligo Children’s Court when hearing criminal matters where the accused is under 18. These are held in the same room as the Local Court but are conducted in closed court, meaning that anyone not connected with the case will be asked to leave the room.

The District Court of New South Wales, which finalises serious indictable criminal matters, does not sit at Lake Cargelligo. If you have a District Court matter arising from the Lake Cargelligo area, you should expect it to be finalised at Griffith or Parkes.
