Bombala Local Court

The Bombala Local Court is located on High Street, Bombala, at the corner with Dickinson Street on the other side of the Bombala River from Maybe Street (the main street). The District Court of NSW does not sit at Bombala so if you have a serious indictable criminal matter arising from the Bombala area, you should expect it to be finalised at Bega.

The Local Court is the court where all criminal matters commence. It will hear cases about all kinds of criminal and traffic offenses, including Assaults, Domestic Violence, Drinking Driving, and Apprehended Domestic Violence Order applications. The Bombala Local Court sits as the Bombala Children’s Court for criminal matters involving people under the age of 18. These are held in the same room as the Local Court, but anyone not connected with the case will be asked to leave when the court is sitting as the Children’s Court.

If you have a matter before Bombala Local Court, make sure you arrive well before the time the matter is listed. You should be neatly and conservatively dressed and you should come prepared to be at court for several hours. The court list is held by a registrar, who will circulate outside the courtroom before court begins, and ask people to check in.
