Extortion (VIC)
Extortion is a general term used to describe criminal behaviour relating to obtaining a benefit, be it money, property or services from another person through coercion or threats. In Victoria, offences relating to extortion are contained in the Crimes Act 1958. These offences include, extortion with threat to kill or inflict serious injury and extortion with threat to destroy property.
